Cauliflower is a versatile, low-calorie vegetable with a low glycaemic index, perfect for low-carb diets. It can be enjoyed in numerous ways, including roasted, steamed, as a pizza base, in soups, curries, or pickled – or simply eaten raw.

Romanesco

Romanesco

Also known as Romanesco Broccoli or Roman Cauliflower, this striking lime-green vegetable dates back to 16th-century Italy. Related to both cauliflower and broccoli, its unique pointed shape and crunchy, nutty flavour make it stand out.

Perfect for steaming, stir-frying, or adding a pop of colour to salads, Romanesco is sure to spark conversation at your table.

Typical Season: October – Mid November
Pack Sizes: Trays of 6

Romanesco is a nutrient-packed vegetable, offering a great source of fibre, vitamin C, and antioxidants. Like cauliflower, it has a low glycaemic index, making it an excellent choice for those following low-carb diets or managing blood sugar levels.

Cabbage

Hispi, or Pointed Cabbage, is a popular variety known for its tightly layered leaves and sweet flavour. Favoured by chefs, it’s ideal for quartering and charring, making a fantastic vegetarian starter or main dish.

Versatile and full of flavour, Hispi is perfect for stir-fries, coleslaw, or simply steamed alongside a roast dinner.

Typical Season: October – November
Pack Sizes: Trays of 10

Packed with vitamins A and C, fibre, and antioxidants, Hispi is a healthy addition to any meal. Its low calorie and high nutrient content make it an excellent choice for those on a balanced or low-calorie diet.

Purple Cauliflower

During the early part of the season, we grow Lavender Cauliflower, a unique purple variety that adds a vibrant twist to traditional cauliflower. Its bold colour and slightly sweeter flavour make it a fantastic addition to brighten up any dish.

Typical Season: October – November

Pack Sizes: Trays of 6

Rich in antioxidants, particularly anthocyanins (which give it its purple hue), Lavender Cauliflower offers health benefits such as supporting heart health and boosting the immune system. It’s a colourful, nutritious alternative to the classic cauliflower.
